Camp Jubilee 2018
Camp Jubilee will be held at the Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center starting August 5, 2018. You may submit an online form or download the camper registration here.
Camp Jubilee is synonymous with love, fun, friends, and independence. By creating a supportive and safe environment with the goal of one counselor per camper, there are many opportunities for our campers to develop physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially.
Camp Jubilee is a 5 day 4 night residential camp for individuals with mild to moderate intellectual and physical disabilities, ages 10 through adulthood. The week is packed with theatrical Bible lessons and singing, along with fun on-site activities that include:
• Field games
• Board games
• Camp fires
The cost per camper is $300 ($275 + $25 deposit). We welcome campers with mild to moderate disabilities who have no severe behaviors and are between the ages of 10 and 35 years old. We reserve the right to use flexibility in acceptance of those who are older than 35 yrs. Get your application in early so you DON’T MISS OUT. A completed application is required for each camper including detailed information on their needs for medical care during their time at camp.
Scholarship information is available upon request.
At the Betsy Jeff Penn 4H Educational Center, located in Reidsville, North Carolina, our campers will enjoy the sprawling 200 acre grounds complete with fields, forests, lakes and streams. As always, campers will enjoy the Camp Jubilee experience of cabin living, cafeteria-style dining, special guests and our traditional Wednesday night camp fire.
Campers will be involved in creative, fun activities designed around meeting the specific needs of our campers with developmental and physical challenges. Our Christ-centered camp program includes theatrical Bible lessons, singing, crafts, swimming, hiking, friends and good food. We are happy to announce that horseback riding, canoeing and archery will be available this summer as well.
All of the senior counseling staff have experience working with individuals who have special needs and we have 2 nurses at the camp at all times, Our goal is a 1 to 1 camper/counselor ratio, with a 2 to 1 ratio for our higher functioning campers.
Church Leaders and Parents: Keep in mind counseling at Camp Jubilee is an opportunity for a great mission trip for your youth group or teenage children in our own backyard. Please contact Programs Director David Cullen at email@example.com for more information about this great opportunity.
