The Jabe Wilhoit Award was established at Camp Jubilee in 2021 to honor the memory of Jabe Wilhoit, a beloved counselor who tragically passed away in a car accident in December 2020. Jabe had volunteered at the camp for three summers and left a lasting impact on the campers through his dedication and servants’ heart. To commemorate his selfless character, the award recognizes a counselor who exemplifies the same Christ-like qualities Jabe displayed.

The recipient of the Jabe Wilhoit Award for Camp Jubilee 2025 is Jeremiah Langston, known to everyone as Jere. Throughout the camp experience, Jere demonstrated unwavering commitment to his camper, whether that meant walking miles in the rain, adapting activities, or missing golf cart rides to put his camper’s needs first. His willingness to sacrifice his own comfort showed that he took the Biblical call to “serve one another” to heart, living out the same selfless love and commitment that Jabe Wilhoit was known for.

Jere is an active member of Reidsville Bible Chapel and has volunteered at Camp Jubilee since 2019, also participating in the annual Family Fun Walk fundraiser.

The award celebrates Jere’s exceptional dedication while honoring Jabe’s legacy of service and love at Camp Jubilee.

Congratulations, Jere! Your heart for service and unwavering commitment to your camper make you a truly deserving recipient of this honor. Thank you for embodying the spirit of Christ-like service that makes Camp Jubilee such a special place.
