On May 1, 2025, Southern C’s Farm in Summerfield was transformed into a twinkling wonderland as Mount Jubilee Ministries celebrated its 20th anniversary with “A Night Under the Stars.” The elegant evening brought together supporters, board members, staff, and our beloved Heroes to commemorate two decades of transforming lives in our community.
An Evening of Celebration and Gratitude
The celebration began with a warm welcome reception at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner and a special performance by our His Path Heroes at 7:30 pm. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of two pillars of our organization – our Founder and Executive Director Emeritus, the late Janice Bishop, and our retiring Executive Director and Resource Development Director, Cecil Cottrell. Their unwavering dedication has built the foundation for all we do at Mount Jubilee Ministries.
Award-winning storyteller and Hall of Fame speaker Kelly Swanson captivated the audience with her performance, sharing powerful stories that reminded us of the impact of our own journeys. The evening concluded with the debut of our 20th Anniversary video, showcasing our remarkable history of service.
A Legacy of Love
What began in 2005 with just five campers and six volunteers has blossomed into a comprehensive ministry serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout our region. Today, Mount Jubilee Ministries offers three thriving day programs, a successful summer camp serving 70 campers, vocational training through our card-making business, and our newly opened respite homes.
Our vision continues to grow as we work toward creating an alternative residential community where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can live, learn, and contribute meaningfully.
A Successful Fundraising Effort
The evening aimed to raise $100,000 to induct both Cecil Cottrell and Janice Bishop into our inaugural Legacy Circle. We are grateful to our presenting sponsors, BAR Construction Company, Inc. and an anonymous donor, along with many other generous sponsors and supporters who made the event possible.
