Karie (pronounced “Car”+”ee”) brings extensive experience in youth development and residential care to her role at Care Cottage. Currently pursuing her B.A. in Psychology, she holds certifications in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and CPR. Her professional background includes serving as an Aftercare Coordinator and House Parent, where she developed personalized care plans and created welcoming environments for residents transitioning into adulthood.
As a former collegiate track and field athlete at Converse College and the eldest in a large family, Karie developed natural leadership skills and understands the importance of teamwork and mentorship. She’s also a published poet in Eber & Wein Publishing’s “Beyond the Sea Series” and received a Scholastic Gold Key Award for painting. Her love for art, worship music, reading, and writing poetry helps her connect with residents through diverse interests and provides creative outlets for care.
