Rockingham County: Mount Jubilee Ministries’ flagship developmental day program, His Path, was launched on December 2, 2019, at Mission First in Reidsville. The incredible staff and participants have remained steadfast through these unprecedented times. Slow but steady growth has led to our current enrollment of 12 Heroes attending 3 days a week.
This program is led by Program Coordinator, Lizzy Stephens, along with 4 part-time support staff. Our heroes are learning job readiness skills through an excellent partnership with the Career Development Services Department from Rockingham Community College. Our continued relationship with the NC Extension Program teaches life skills along with fun activities such as cooking classes, line dancing, and special workouts.
Volunteer activities for our Rockingham County Heroes include delivering Meals on Wheels and serving at Lot 2540. Field trip favorites include bowling, swimming, and other activities at the YMCA, visiting museums and the Science Center, and occasional lunch outings. Daily our Heroes enjoy Bible study and Praise and Worship, led by an array of volunteers including over half a dozen local pastors.
Forsyth County: Mount Jubilee Ministries recognized the need in Forsyth County for families and prayerfully launched our second His Path program in June of 2021 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church. Currently, the program has reached maximum capacity of 12 His Path Heroes and has a waitlist to be able to join. The saying, “God provides where He guides” has never felt more tangible to us.
The program is led by Program Coordinator Angelica Villalta, along with 4 part-time support staff. Our heroes are serving their community through Meals on Wheels, Second Harvest Food Bank, the Clemmons Food Pantry, and HOPE of Winston Salem. They also enjoy dance classes from In Motion Dance Studios and the YMCA. Field trip favorites include the local library, bowling, art museums, and various parks. Our friends always enjoy Bible time from amazing Church leaders, worship time, and talent shows. Each Monday, our His Path Heroes from both programs meet at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel in Greensboro for fun and fellowship!
Without a doubt, the most rewarding results of both day programs are the testimony from parents indicating what a positive impact His Path is having on their children.
