In March of this year, Mount Jubilee Ministries (MJM) announced the acquisition of 11 acres in your neighborhood, at the corner of Freeway Drive and S. Scales Street in Reidsville, NC. This significant milestone marked a profound step forward in realizing MJM’s vision of providing long-term residential housing for adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This group of individuals have so much love, joy, and potential, but they are so often pushed to the margins of society. We are thankful to God that isn’t the case here!
MJM’s vision for the property aims to redefine residential opportunities for individuals with I/DD by integrating vocational training and employment opportunities within the community. This innovative approach seeks to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives while contributing meaningfully to society. These are undoubtedly the best neighbors you could ever have!
The first step toward MJM breaking ground is removing the farmhouse (it is unsalvageable); the Reidsville Fire Department has graciously agreed to complete the demolition by a controlled burn. The community was excited to witness the training session on September 23 and the exciting full-burn on October 5. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through all the steps of this great journey.
We praise God that He saw fit to allow us to settle in the heart of Reidsville and we look forward to meeting you, our neighbors, over the coming months.
