Mount Jubilee Scores Big in Family Fun Walk
On Saturday, September 14, nearly 300 enthusiastic supporters, families, and Heroes of Mount Jubilee Ministries gathered for the 9th Annual Family Fun Walk and Auction. This event, now a beloved community tradition, continues to grow each year, championing MJM’s mission to serve unserved and underserved teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the Piedmont region.
With an ambitious goal of $300,000, it was truly a team effort to surpass this target, raising an incredible $310,307! Thanks to the generosity of over 70 local businesses, 30 Hero fundraising teams, numerous donors, and an exciting auction, these funds will help sustain affordable, Christ-centered programs for our special friends.
The day kicked off with pre-walk festivities including team photos, face painting, yard games, and plenty of laughter. After an energizing warmup led by the Dodge family, 25 Heroes led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a heartfelt National Anthem from Julia Nichols. With smiles all around, participants set off on a 5K walk through Reidsville’s beautiful southern neighborhoods.
Arriving back at Reidsville Christian Church, walkers were greeted with a delicious barbecue lunch prepared by master chefs Doyle O’Bryant and Jeff Strader, followed by a lively auction and the opportunity to purchase Hero-made greeting cards. This year’s online auction also contributed to exceeding the fundraising goal.
Executive Director Jessie Meador expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and gave so generously. Your support allows us to expand programs for the special needs community. We also thank the Lord for His incredible provision through all of you, as we work to change how the world views adults with special needs.
