Press Release: Bryanna Kennedy Receives Wilhoit Award

Camp Jubilee has been blessed with the most amazing counselor volunteers over the years. One of whom was Jabe Wilhoit, who served at Camp Jubilee for two summers before the Lord brought him home to glory following a tragic car accident in December, 2020. To memorialize the outstanding servant’s heart that Jabe displayed, MJM introduced The Jabe Wilhoit Award in 2021 to acknowledge the counselor who exemplifies the character that we were able to witness in Jabe during his time at Camp Jubilee.

Among the counselors who serve so unselfishly, there is always one who stands above all others. This summer, Camp Jubilee was honored to present The Jabe Wilhoit Award to Bryanna Kennedy. This is the third year Bryanna has volunteered at Camp Jubilee and was the perfect fit for her camper, Melinda Robbins. Bryanna not only helped her navigate camp, but also demonstrated true Christian character that set an example for all to see. At camp’s end, Bryanna said she will return each summer as the Lord leads.

Bryanna attends Lawsonville Road Baptist Church in Reidsville, NC. She has recently graduated from Western Carolina University with a Master’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders (Speech Therapy). Bryanna will begin her career at the Cheshire Center serving at a local elementary school. Bryanna stated, “Camp Jubilee began to shape my career goals and I am excited to continue serving these special ones as a speech therapist. This camp means so much to me because each camper truly teaches how to be like Jesus. Their unfiltered worship is genuine and straight from the heart, rising above any worship I have ever experienced!”

Congratulations Bryanna! We are excited to see how the Lord continues to shape your servant’s heart.
